Exploring the sources and effects of variability and heterogeneity in cardiac modelling (Video) Event as iCalendar

01 March 2016

4 - 5pm

Venue: Ground Floor Seminar Room (G10)

Location: 70 Symonds St

A Bioengineering seminar by Prof Kevin BurrageProfessor of Computational Maths, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane

Abstract: Variability can manifest  itself in many different ways and at many scales when attempting to understand complex multi-scaled physical phenomena.  In this talk we explore the effects of variability and heterogeneity at the ion channel, cardiac tissue and population levels.  Key ideas that will be explored include stochastic simulation, fractional diffusion and populations of models.
