Taniwha article published in Ingenia Magazine in the UK

29 September 2017

An article on ABI’s human-powered submarine, the Taniwha, recently made an appearance in the Ingenia magazine published by the Royal Academy of Engineering in the UK. The article, which describes the engineering behind the Taniwha, has been well received in the UK. Associate Professor Iain Anderson who co-wrote the article with Sir Robert Hill (head of the judging panel for the International Submarine Race which the Taniwha won in 2016), also describes other interesting facts about the Taniwha in the article, including how it has derived inspiration from the New Zealand leatherjacket fish. The write-up will be re-posted on the UK Naval Engineering Science and Technology’s website and re-published in The Marine Professional magazine.
