Alumna profile

BA(Hons) Oxf., PhD

Catherine Lloyd came to New Zealand after completing an BA in Biology at the University of Oxford.

From 2001 to 2004 Catherine worked at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute on the CellML Project, where her main role was to translate published mathematical models into CellML and add them to the growing CellML Model Repository.

In 2004 Catherine left the Auckland Bioengineering Institute to return to the world of biology, where she studied fat-immune interactions in fatty liver disease. She returned to the Institute as Dr Lloyd in 2007 and worked as a Research Fellow on the CellML Project.

Catherine resumed the tasks of model translation and curation. Her work on the CellML Model Repository supported the Institute’s goal to facilitate model exchange and reuse between collaborators around the world.

Catherine was also a member of the editorial team for the CellML website, and organised workshops and conferences for the CellML community.

In 2010 Catherine joined Kerridge and Partners as a Research Associate.
