Xinshan (Shannon) Li

Shannon Li obtained a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering with first class honours in 2006 from The University of Auckland. Shannon began her doctoral research project at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute in 2007.

Her project focused on the mechanics of the pelvic floor muscles during childbirth. Her work was part of the Institute's pelvic floor project. Aspects of Shannon's doctoral project have been published by Springer and Wiley Interdisciplinary Science.

Shannon obtained her PhD in 2011, and subsequently joined the Department of Computer Science, University of Sheffield, as a research associate to investigate cell-based modelling in a multi-disciplinary project in collaboration with P&G (USA). In 2013, Xinshan was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, also at the University of Sheffield.

Shannon's doctoral research project was supervised by Associate Professor Poul Nielsen and Associate Professor Martyn Nash.
