Congratulations! Start your journey to the Auckland Bioengineering Institute by following the steps below to apply to be a masters or doctoral student.

How to apply - Masters programme

Steps for Masters of Engineering (ME) in Bioengineering.

  1. Start by contacting one or more of our supervisors to discuss potential research topics. 
    • You can find supervisors from our research groups and funded research opportunities below. The University also offers a bioengineering scholarship for masters students (see the Scholarships section.)
    • Alternatively, you can speak to our postgraduate advisor who can refer you to supervisors based on your interest.
  2. Once the supervisor agrees to work with you and a research project is agreed upon, you can then apply for the masters programme by following the step-by-step guide below. You can start applying at any time during the year.

When applying, you will need to fill out ABI's Master of Engineering (ME) Research Proposal form with your supervisor(s). Once you have filled out the form you can attach it at Step 5 of the Masters programme step-by-step guide.

 

 

How to apply - PhD programme

Steps for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering.

  1. Start by contacting one or more of our supervisors to discuss potential research topics. 
    • You can find supervisors from our research groups and funded research opportunities below. 
    • Alternatively, you can speak to our postgraduate advisor who can refer you to supervisors based on your interests.
  2. Once the supervisor agrees to work with you and a research project is agreed upon, you can then apply for the masters programme by following the step-by-step guide below. You can start applying at any time during the year.

Research opportunities

You can find funded and unfunded research projects at ABI offered by our supervisors. If you have your own project idea relevant to one of our research areas, you can also contact a potential supervisor to discuss it further.

 

 

Scholarships
