Prototype Nephron Interface - NPruntime

Available here is a prototype implementation of a renal nephron interface which provides the ability to browse a multiscale nephron model description. This interface makes use of the zinc browser plugin. To use the interface you must first install zinc. This interface is described in the article: A tool for multi-scale modelling of the renal nephron by David P. Nickerson, Jonna R. Terkildsen, Kirk L. Hamilton and Peter J. Hunter.

Once you have zinc installed, you can proceed to the Nephron Interface. Please note this is a prototype implementation so it does not perform optimally and there are some bugs. This version of the interface is the initial migration to the new Zinc NPruntime plugin, which will allow it to work with other web browsers.

Prototype Nephron Interface

Available here is a prototype implementation of a renal nephron interface which provides the ability to browse a multiscale nephron model description. This interface makes use of the zinc browser extension for Firefox. To use the interface you must first install zinc - this is an unsigned application, so be sure to follow the configure step (4) in the instructions.

Once you have zinc installed, you can proceed to the Nephron Interface. Please note this is a prototype implementation so it does not perform optimally and there are some bugs. In particular, zinc sometimes fails to initialise correctly on page load which seems to do funny things with firefox's caching - so if you find this happening, a [CTRL]-Reload (open the page in a new tab) seems to sort things out. We are currently migrating this interface to the new Zinc NPruntime plugin, which will sort out most of the outstanding issues with the current interface and allow it to work with other web browsers.
