Chun Meng Goh graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Auckland in 2012 and is continuing with further studies at PhD level at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute.

Goh's research project focuses on soft tissue modelling, namely the breast, using mesh free (or meshless) biophysical models. Conventional mesh-based models are accurate but could be computationally costly and fail when simulating large deformations, hence the novel idea of modelling soft tissue using meshfree methods is proposed in his project.
He is currently investigating and developing the suitable meshfree method to be employed in soft tissue modelling, especially in reliably simulating large deformations, namely the breasts' responses under different directions of gravity loading as well as under mammographic compression. Accurate and robust simulations of these breasts' responses can help in co-locating the tumour position non-invasively, further improving on tumour tracking and subsequent clinical removal.
