Dr Nira Paskaranandavadivel
BE, ME(First Class Honours), PhD
Nira obtained his Bachleor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering, Master of Engineering with First Class Honours in Bioengineering, and PhD in Bioengineering, at the University of Auckland. His doctoral thesis focused on developing novel methods to record and analyse the electrophysiology of the gastrointestinal system using high-resolution mapping techniques.
In 2014, he joined as a Research Fellow at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute in the Gastrointestinal System Group. His research focuses on understanding the electrophysiology of the gut using high-resolution electrical and pressure measurement techniques.
Research | Current
Nira's research focuses on high-resolution mapping methods to investigate the electrophysiology of the gut, with the overall aim to improve and develop new diagnoistics and therauputics for gut disorders. He is involved in developing signal processing and designing software and hardware platforms for basic science and clinical translation with local and international investigators.
