Design, Fabrication and Modelling of Intracardiac Catheter for Electrical Mapping of Atrial Fibrillation
The aim of Emma's research is to develop a more accurate representation of electrical activation patterns on the endocardial surface of atria which may be used to detect possible origin of atrial fibrillation. She will be able to achieve this by solving an inverse problem which allows the utilisation of non contacting electrodes. Her research also involves the development of a new multi-electrode basket catheter which can be expanded or contracted to obtain a good coverage for the region of interest based on non contacting electrodes.
