After completing a Bachelors in Engineering with Honours in Biomedical Engineering, Jenny began a PhD at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute in 2014.

Characterising human heart failure with clinical imaging and structure-based modelling
Jenny is developing automated biomechanics modelling methods to interpret clinical images (MRI) from heart failure patients in order to estimate the passive and contractile myocardial properties of the heart on a per-patient basis. This will allow investigations of the changes in myocardial tissue mechanics which occur during heart failure.
This research project is built on international collaborations (including the St. Francis Hospital in New York) which provide access to unique data on myocardial motion and left ventricular chamber pressure measurements across a variety of patient groups.
