Profile

David Brooks received a BE(Hons) in digital electronics and control systems and an MSc(Hons) in pure mathematics, both from The University of Auckland. He was then employed by the University's Computer Centre for several years, back when a single computer occupied a whole floor of the building. Since then, prior to beginning PhD studies in early 2009, he has had his own software development and consultancy business.

His PhD research is focussed on developing data and metadata models and tools for the many different biosignal storage formats used in physiological research, using knowledge engineering and semantic web concepts and technologies.
