Ioannis (Yannis) was born in Athens, Greece. After finishing high school he attempted a career in Psychology by pursuing a BSc in Psychology and Mathematics at Royal Holloway University and University of California, Irvine. He later jumped to engineering and graduated with a BEng in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2010.

Ioannis is currently working with Dr Vijay Rajagopal and Associate Professor Edmund Crampin on the development of a computational model of the cardiac myocyte in healthy and diabetic rats.

Outside work, Ioannis loves to play basketball. He also likes football, windsurfing, surfing, diving, triathlon and cinema.
