Jagir Hussan is an engineering graduate from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, India. Following graduation, he worked for IBM Corporation specialising in high performance computing solutions for biology, finance and multimedia intelligence.

In 2006 he joined the Auckland Bioengineering Institute and commenced his PhD studies in cardiac electrophysiology, specifically towards understanding the role of ion-channels in cardiac arrhythmias using first principles.

His research interests are in non-equilibrium thermodynamics, quantum mechanics (causal interpretation), topological physics, quasi-conformal analysis, TQFT and applications of complex systems analysis to clinically significant problems.
