Profile
Rachel Lees-Green received a BE (Hons) in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Auckland in 2009. In 2010 she began a PhD at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute.
Rachel is using computational modelling to explore the mechanisms by which interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in the gastrointestinal tract are able to generate spontaneous electrical activity. An accurate model of ICC behaviour can be used to investigate how changes in these cells may lead to conditions such as gastroparesis or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
