Soroush Safaei received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Iran in 2009.
In 2010 he joined the Auckland Bioengineering Institute as a MSc student where he is a member of the Physiome Project group, which provided a comprehensive framework for modeling the human body using computational methods.
His research project involves developing a comprehensive model of the cardiovascular system. Flow in the arteries and veins will be modelled with 1D Navier-Stokes equations coupled with empirical pressure-area relations for the blood vessel compliance.
