Vijay Rajagopal
After Vijay completing his undergraduate degree Engineerinig Science in 2003, he was awarded a Foundation for Research, Science and Technology Top Achiever Doctoral Scholarship. Vijay defended his doctoral thesis at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute in 2007 and went on to establish the Biomechanics for Breast Imaging group with his former supervisors Associate Professor Martyn Nash and Associate Professor Poul Nielsen. Vijay was a Research Fellow at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute.
In March 2012 Vijay left the Auckland Bioengineering Institute to take up a research position at the Singapore-MIT Allianace for research and technology centre (SMART). Vijay will be part of a computational cell modelling team investigating fundamental questions about cancer tumour growth and progression.
Vijay continues to collaborate with Auckland Bioengineering Institute researchers on projects such as 3D Cardiac Cell Modelling.
